The businesses here are owned and operated by your neighbors and friends, and they need your support now more than ever! Shops are open until 9pm so you can get the very best items for those special folks on your list. No generic big box items in Downtown! Every shop has uncommon, unique items so your gift giving this year says, “You are special!”, not “Big Box special.”
The Annual Holiday Walkabout kicks off the holidays on Tuesday, November 14th. Munn Park will be filled with holiday lights and festive music performed by area schools. Harrison School for the Arts students will be strolling around to provide festive caroling, entertaining passersby. get a head start on your shopping while enjoying the atmosphere of beautiful, historic Downtown Lakeland!
WALKABOUT ACTIVITIES:
Photos with Santa – NO WAITING IN LINE THIS YEAR! We want you to enjoy every minute of the walkabout and waiting in line is NO FUN! So this year we offer scheduled times for your photos. These professional photos are just $3 each, but you have to pick up your ticket for a reserved time at the Santa Photos location – 117 North Kentucky Ave, next to Explorations V Children’s Museum beginning at 5:45pm. Pay for your photo, get your ticket for your reserved time, then enjoy the event until your time comes around. Santa must return to the North Pole that evening, so photos will end at 9pm. Get your timed ticket early before they are all gone!
Logistics: The streets will NOT be closed to vehicular traffic as they are for First Fridays. Ample parking available in the Oak Street parking lot (corner of Kentucky & Oak St), the Main Street garage, and on street parking throughout Downtown but for the blocks around Munn Park which are closed for the carriage ride route.
Carriage Rides:
Little Hands Ranch will provide horse-drawn carriage rides with Clydesdales. The blocks around Munn Park will be closed to vehicular traffic for the carriage ride route. Rides are free, so the rides will be short to accommodate as many patrons as possible. See the map below for the drop off and pick up locations for the carriage ride.

Fun and whimsical artist, Don Nedobeck, will be inside Brooke Pottery visiting with guests and signing his artwork during the Holiday Walkabout.
The Grinch is trying to steal Christmas! Take your photo with Grinch if you catch him on the street and help is heart grow 3 SIZES at the Holiday Walkabout!
