ADA Accommodation

Accessibility and ADA Accommodations

The Lakeland Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) is committed to providing an accessible and welcoming experience for all visitors attending events in Downtown Lakeland.

We strive to ensure that individuals of all abilities can participate in and enjoy our events, including First Friday, the Downtown Farmers Curb Market, special events, and community gatherings held throughout the downtown district.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking spaces are available in public parking lots and designated parking areas throughout Downtown Lakeland. These spaces are marked in accordance with applicable accessibility standards and are available on a first-come, first-served basis to individuals displaying a valid accessible parking permit or license plate.

Because event footprints and street closures may vary, visitors requiring accessible parking are encouraged to arrive early to secure the most convenient parking location.

Accessible Restrooms

ADA-compliant portable restrooms are provided during LDDA events and are strategically located throughout the event footprint to improve accessibility and convenience for attendees.

Accessible restroom locations may vary based on the size and layout of each event. Event staff can assist visitors in locating the nearest accessible restroom when needed.

Accessible Routes

Downtown Lakeland’s sidewalks, crosswalks, and public spaces provide accessible routes throughout much of the event area. Event layouts are designed to maintain pedestrian access whenever possible and to accommodate wheelchairs, mobility devices, and other accessibility needs.

Temporary event infrastructure, including vendor booths, stages, and activity areas, is arranged with accessibility considerations in mind.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at all LDDA events in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Attendees are responsible for the care and supervision of their service animals while attending events.

Assistance During Events

LDDA staff and event personnel are available to assist visitors who may need accessibility information or assistance during an event. While every effort is made to accommodate a wide range of needs, accommodations may vary depending on the location and nature of the event.

Requests for Additional Accommodations

Individuals requiring specific accommodations are encouraged to contact the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority prior to the event whenever possible. Advance notice allows staff to better understand and address accessibility needs.
