Join us on May 5 from 6pm to 9pm for our next First Friday event: Cinco de Mayo! Eat, drink and dance in Munn Park in celebration of the holiday. Just Dance Academy will be providing DJing and dance lessons in Munn Park at 6:30, 7:15, and 8pm. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, adults can enjoy an adult beverage “to go” while walking around the event. Stop by our vendors in Munn Park, and pick up a rum drink from Lugo’s or a margarita from Play It Forward Polk. Additionally, here are some special offerings by our brick-and-mortar merchants:
- Nineteen61: Paloma and Flavored Margaritas
- AX-Caliber Axe Venue & Coffee House: Taco Baskets and BOGO Coronas
- Frescos: Strawberry Sangrita for $6 and an In-House Tequila Flight for $20
- The Back Nine: Classic Tacos $2 each (ordered in increments of 3) and Margarita Flights $14 (three full size margaritas – one spicy, one strawberry, one classic)
Downtown shops and restaurants will be open late. Don’t miss the Makers Market, featuring local artists and creators, on North Kentucky Avenue, Food Trucks on Pine St., and the Classy Car Show on Tennessee Ave. Streets are closed to vehicles, so come prepared to walk about!
First Friday is a family-friendly event held in the streets of Downtown Lakeland between Lemon Street and Oak Street along Kentucky and Tennessee Avenues. On-street parking begins to close in the event area at 3pm to allow us to clear the streets and set up the exhibitors and vendors. Parking in all permitted and metered locations is free after 5pm and all day on the weekends. Event parking is limited, so please carpool with friends and neighbors!
