Enjoy live music by Bily Needs a Beard!

“Billy Needs a Beard (BNAB) was originated over 20 years ago.  The founding members are Steven Glick, Ben Graffam, and Bill Lippy.  Jimmy Bassham joined the band shortly after conception.  The band wrote and published two albums and are available on I-Tunes.  A third album is close to completion.

The genre is largely Folk-Rock inspired by music such as The Beatles, Crosby, Stills and Nash, The Band, Bob Dylan and the Eagles.  BNAB mixes covers with original music in their sets.  BNAB has played at the Polk Theatre, Folk Festivals, Munn Park, Lake Mirror in the Friday music series and at many of the regional live music showcases including the Friends of Joe series.  Current band members are Steven Glick on lead guitar and vocals, Billy Lippy on rhythm guitar and vocals, Mike Lawson on bass and vocals, Josh Dampier on violin and our newest member Steve Greenberg on flute.

Emeritus Band members are Dr. Ben Graffam and Jimmy Bassham.”

Downtown shops and restaurants will be open late. Don’t miss the Makers Market, featuring local artists and creators, on North Kentucky Avenue, Food Trucks on Pine St., and the Classy Car Show on Tennessee Ave. Streets are closed to vehicles, so come prepared to walk about!

First Friday is a family-friendly event held in the streets of Downtown Lakeland between Lemon Street and Oak Street along Kentucky and Tennessee Avenues. On-street parking begins to close in the event area at 3pm to allow us to clear the streets and set up the exhibitors and vendors. Parking in all permitted and metered locations is free after 5pm and all day on the weekends. Event parking is limited, so please carpool with friends and neighbors!

First Friday is supported by our Downtown Champions:
